Peonies Background Hidden Greetings

Hi,

I got some time to play with some new stamp and die I bought using the gift card I received from Simon Says Stamp for being their Guest Designer for the SSS Flickr Challenge in August.

Thank you so much Simon Says Stamp!!

Let's take a look.

The 6x6 Peonies Backgroup Cling Stamp is gorgeous!!  I heat embossed it in Brass on a multi media paper panel, and watercolored.

After eveything is dried I trimmed it into two panels, one standard A2 size panel for the front of my card and another 1 3/8 by 4 1/4 inch panel to decorate the flap of the envelope.

Then I used Simon Says Stamp Perforated Flaps Wafer Dies to die cut the flap on the watercolored panel.  Since the watercolored panel is quite thick I used an exacto knife to cut along the perforated line to facilitate the opening of the flap.

The Peonies Background image is a little busy, and the area where the flap isn't obvious.  So I applied another layer of watercolor over the flap area to make it darker and I also colored in the background of the image in blue.

I white heat embossed some sentiments on a standard A2 size hot pink card panel, and glue the died watercolor panel on top after I rounded the corners.

Here's a little video showing how it works.

A Different Fall Color Palette

Hi, welcome back!

Whenever we talk about Fall Colors I usually automatically think of the falling leaves and their tremendous colors, the yellows, the oranges, and the reds.  But this year I am also quite intrigued by the purple and green combination from this Fall harvest vegetable.

Here's my project inspired by the colors.

For embossed background, I took some white embossing paste and added a few drops of Glimmer Metallic Gold Ink and some Perfect Pearl powder and mix together to create a unique color embossing paste.  I stencilled using Simon Says Stamp Mesh Stencil.

While that dries, I stamped the largest image from the Simon Says Stamp Earth Has Music with Jet Black Archival Ink on multi media paper, and watercolored.  I coated the green flower portion with some twinkling watercolor for some shine.

"HBD" is stamped using Seedless Preserves and hand cut along with the feather image.  Once my background panel is completely dry I adhered it to a purple card base, then used foam adhesive to glue the handcut pieces on top.

Christmas Cards 2018-dec-01

Hi,

Welcome back to my blog.  This is my second post of the day.  For my a2z Scrapbooking Challenge card, click here.

I am inspired by the current CAS-ual Friday challenge - Shades of Gold.

To create the golden look, I first distressed the leaves of the wreath with Crushed Olive, (this ink looks very similar to an Old Gold ink I used to have). I heat embossed the teapot and cup with Brass EP and watercolored with various shades of yellows and orange.  The hearts motif are painted with glimmer metallic gold ink.  And I embellished the wreath with some golden/yellow art gems.

I just love that golden shine!!!

Center Cut Flower bouquet

Hi there, welcome back to my blog.

This is my second post today, for my Nasturtium Hello on a2z post, click here.

Did you watch the Royal Wedding?  I didn't but there are enough media coverage everywhere so I am aware of a few things about it, such as the white and green palette of the bouquet.  I love it!!  That is the inspiration of my card below.

I wanted to keep my card very light and airy.  So, just simple heat embossing in Brass the confetti background, the sentiment and the flowers.  I gave the flower a light pale wash of yellow and green.  And I added a shimmery coat of Perfect Pearl powder mixed with water.

Really shiny under the sun light!  Then I embellished with some clear and pale green sequins.

CAS Celebrate

Hi everybody,

If you are looking for my New Look + Giveaway post, click Here or scroll down.

Today I have a CAS card to share.

I stamp Hero Arts Luscious Ledger with Spun Sugar on the background.  Die cut a purple panel using Hero Arts Stamp and Cut Frame.  Before I pop the die cut out from the die, I use a white gel pen to draw the outline tracing along the inside edge of the die.  The letter C is fussy cut from a watercoloured panel that has been white heat embossed with Hero Arts Envelope Pattern from my scrap pile to-use-next-time pile.  The sentiment is stamp using Tuxedo Black.

I am linking to a couple challenges:
