2024 September Woodblock Wednesday Special Hop on IG

 Hello there,

So nice to see you here.  I am participating in a very fun, very special Woodblock Wednesday IG Hop today.

Why is it so special?  Because we're using Hero Arts owl woodblock stamps, and I am using this one:

I own this stamp since 2008.  So it is very nice to bring it out and give it some inking/coloring love.  Here's today's project.

I first heat embossed Big Own in Platinum on mixed media paper.  Then I watercolored it with metallic watercolors, and hand cut.

I 3D embossed the background with decorative foil, then ink blended the sides.  I made slits on a couple of leaves so I could tug Big Owl in there.  The sentiment is heat embossed in Platinum.  I found the woodblock sentiment stamp from Impression Obsession at a stamp sale just last week, I thought it is perfect for my card.

Amy Tsuruta is the host of the Woodblock Wednesday, get more information about this hop at her blog:  Tsuruta Designs or visit @woodblockwednesday on Instagram.

Asian Inspired ATCs

 Hello,

My LSS hosts a challenge every month for it's patrons, and May's theme is World Cultures.  I drew inspirations from my Chinese heritage: tea, bamboo, rice paper, and seal stone.  I created a set of ATCs with matching envelopes.

The background of the ATC was stamped with paint.  I used brayer to apply paint on the cling stamps.  Tea pot and cups stamped in black on pattern paper, and shadow added with Copic markers.  I hand-written the greeting on the tag ("wish you well").

The envelope I created using rice paper, and stamped with distress ink.  The seal stone was used to stamp my Chinese name on the front of the envelope.

Supplies:

Impress Obsession Bamboo Cling Stamp
Hero Arts Soy Awesome Clear Stamp Set
Hero Arts Soy Awesome Frame Cut
Elizabeth Craft Designs Mason Jar/Snowglobe Special Die set
Sizzix Creamy Acrylic Paint (Green Tea)
Memento Dye Ink (Black Tuxedo)
Copic markers
Ranger Distress Ink (Weathered Wood, Barn Door)

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a sweet day!

2017 Fall Coffee Lovers' Bloghop project 6

Fall officially start in a couple days.  And I thinking about the holidays and festival in Fall, like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day; but my coffee hop project today is inspired by an Asian festival - Mid Autumn Festival.  When I was young, my parents and my siblings used to celebrate.  On the evening of the 15th day of the Eighth month on the Lunar calendar, we'd gathering around after dinner sharing moon cakes, tea, fruits and sweets; and to take in the sight of a bright full moon (weather permitting of course).  And we decorate with lanterns and Chrysanthemum.

To make my over size card, on watercolor paper I created the evening sky with a full moon using water colors.  Next I stamped the bamboo images.  The lanterns are cut out from pattern paper.  Cake stand and tea cups are die cut with pattern paper and distressed.  Moon cakes and golden acorns are stamped, colored, and hand cut, and adhered with foam adhesive.

Now a little fun fact, the "table" is actually die cut using my Hero Arts Nesting Tea Cup Infinity dies,  Oh yes, I am still having plenty fun using them.  After I die cut the cup, I cut off the handle to use as "table".  For the "table cloth", I masked it with a doily and ink it.

Get 15% off your Tea Cup dies at a2z Scrapbooking Supplies Etsy store, use my code Cindy15 at checkout.  Note purchase must be $25 or over before shipping.  A2z is operated by volunteers and the proceeds benefit Celiac & Behcets disease foundations.  So while you'll have some shopping fun, you'd be also making contributions to charities!  :)
