30 Day Coloring (Jul26)

I cut the rainbow color rice paper and applied to my mini art journal cover.

I adhere the strips with mat medium, then stamped the title (source forgotten), images (Simon Says Stamps Crafty Friends Stamp set), month (source unknown), year (Altenew Book Club Stamp set), and dotted frame (Imanginisce) in Jet Black Archival Ink.  I thought since we're talking about coloring, some ink splashes are in order.  Thus I took my Hero Arts Ink Daubers (yes I still have them) and dropped them onto the surface to make those ink spots (it didn't splash as much as I wanted).  Next I splattered some white paint all over, and coated the whole cover with glossy accent (to make sure nothing peels off).

Thanks for coming over to my blog.  See you again soon.

30 Day Coloring (Jul17)

So my original plan of using the alcohol inked panel (done yesterday) on my alcohol inked art journal page does not work because they are of the same pattern and same color scheme.  Hence I went ahead and made another alcohol inked panel using the darker tones.  Then I die cut Poppystamps Marcelle Flower from it and add to my page.  I also added a heat embossed sentiment from the Simon Says Stamps Lovely Spring set.

Now you must have noticed that green ink, it dripped from the page behind (for the 13th).  I didn't put it there on purpose, but it's okay, the green makes the red looks more red!  LOL

Other challenges:

Supplies:

Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Clear Stamp Set
Ranger Tim Holtz alcohol inks (Water Melon, Sunset Orange, Sunshine Yellow, Lettuce, Stream,  Cranberry, and Eggplant)
Ranger Spun Sugar Distress Ink
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Clear Emobossing Powder

Thanks for checking out my blog.  See you again soon!

Fairytale Flowers Easel Shaker on Die Cut Divas

Hi everybody,

I am very excited to share my project for Die Cut Divas today.  Have you come across a time when your card front is too heavy (of a side open card) and it topples over?  I have, so I've decide to experience with an easel card.  I am pretty sure the design is out there somewhere on the world wide web, and I do not claim to have invented it.

To create this card I started by stamping both the floral images from Hero Arts Fairytale Book Alphabet Stamp set on a white card panel in Soft Grey shadow ink and then colored in pencils.  Then die cut the shaker window with Scallop Frame.

To create the card base I trim a 12 by 4 1/14 inch white card panel, score at 6 inch (middle of panel), and at half inch on each side.  To connect and create the easel I also need a 4 1/4 by 1 inch white paper stripe.

On the card base I gold heat emboss the rose and build the shaker element.

For the back of the card, I die cut a Perforated Flap, and adhere a white panel with stamped sentiment in the inside so when flap is open, the sentiment reveals.  Of course I did this step before I glue together the bottom flaps to create the easel.  :)

Here's a shot of it folded going in the envelope.

I hope I've inspired you to join the challenge.  February Challenge theme on Die Cut Divas is Flowers and Hearts.  And our sponsor is Hero Arts.

Simon Says Stamp Flickr One Layer Challenge

Hello everybody,

I am so excited about today's post, I am invited to be a Guest Designer for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #129, the theme is: One Layer.  This challenge starts Friday August 2nd and ends Thursday August 15th, 9:00am EDT.  Check details here.

Birthday and Christmas are two occasions I make most cards for, and I send them often via snail mail. So one layer cards are best to avoid bulkiness.  Now having that said, one does not need to sacrifice style to have a one layer card.  With some careful planning, a one layer card can be as pretty as a layered card.

I created two cards today.  The first one is a birthday card.

I masked the center and lower half of the card, stamped Simon Says Stamp Center Cut Flower in Archival Jet Black ink using my MISTI.  Then turn the card around, masked the center and the other
half of card and repeat the stamping.

Then I drew the lines in the center of the card to make it looks like a banner.  I stamped the sentifment in black and then the thick dotted lines in soft grey.

The flowers are watercolored, the centers are dotted with Onyx Pearl Liquid Pearl, the decorative dots along the leaves are dotted with White Opal Liquid Pearl.

I also stamped a matching envelope in Soft Grey.

For the my second card I made a Christmas card but in a less traditional color scheme.

To make this card, I started by making a dry impression using Simon Says Stamp Wavy Scallop Stitched Die on a white card base with silicone mat underneath the card base.  But I placed a light weight card stock on top of the card (but under the cutting die) when I pass it thru the die cut machine.  This way the light weight card stock is cut thru at the same position and I used it to doing masking.

Next I stamped the flower and leaves and colored with pencils.  Then I masked the lower part of the card starting at the stitch line, and stamped the plaid pattern in Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint, and Picked Raspberry.

Then I masked the scallop area and used an ink applying tool to apply Peeled Paint (this step I didn't take photo).

The sentiment is stamped in black.  And for I splattered some Perfect Pearl solution all over.

I hope you enjoy my cards.  Come on over to flickr and play along with us.  Link here.

Silver Jubilee Scrapbook Layout

Hello and welcome back to my blog.

In order to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day, I have created a scrapbook layout.   And this one is very special cause it's for my 25th anniversary (celebrated last year)!!  :)

I started with a charcoal grey 12 x 12 card stock and silver heat embossed sequins (from Hero Arts Congrats Stamp & Cut set) randomly.

Then I adhere the matted photo near the middle of the page.  It is adorned with Dainty Bouquet (from Altenew).  Sentiment (from Hero Arts You Are My Happy) is silver heat embossed, the title is die cut using Alternew Inline Alpha Die set.

A Stack of Cups and Winners

Happy Friday everyone!

I've got one more card to share for the Spring Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop.

The star of this clean and layered card is the stack of pretty cups.  I played with some ink sprays (Ranger Dylusion: Promegranate Seed, Vanilla Custard) and stencil (Simon Says Stamps Harvest Stencil) a few weeks ago.  The panels I created have waiting to be used.  Well today is that day!!

I stamped the cup from Uniko I love Tea set with black, hand cut and stacked them onto an embossed panel.  Sentiment is from the same set.

Now for my giveaway winners.

Random Number generator gave me 3, 10, 8.  So that means the ladies who will received a copy of my very own Blooming Tea digi images are:

Karen Letchworth
Helen Gullett
Verna Angerhofer

Congrats ladies!!  Please shoot me an email at esctostampin(at)hotmail(dot)com with subject line: Blooming Tea digi winner.

Thank you all who left me lovely comments, your kind words are much appreciated.

Have a great day and a wonderful Mother's Day Weekend coming up!!

World Card Making Day Project

Happy World Card Making Day!!

I know I am a little late to the party, was busy earlier in the day!  But got to spend some time in the craft room in the afternoon.  Today I am inspired by all the beautiful cards on the Simon Says Stamps Blog.  And I made a couple of Christmas cards to add to my stash.

I create a plaid pattern (on white card stock) using Hero Arts Glimmer Metallic Ink (Gold and Pewter), and Twinkling H2O Watercolors (Black Orchid), then I die cut the ornaments using Hero Arts Ornaments Infinity Dies.  I die cut the Hero Arts Holiday Greenery Edge from some neutral color card stock (I don't know the name of the color), and use a small brush to applied Gold Glimmer Metallic Ink to the greenery part.

I can't decide whether to go with red sentiment or gold embossed one, so I made one of each.  The sentiment is from an older Hero Arts set called The Joy Of Winter.

I adhere the greenery edge to a wine color card base, hang the ornaments and affixed with foam adhesive.

Here's a close up, you could the shimmers.

Candy Canes

Welcome back to my blog.

I am sharing a card created for the Die Cut Diva's challenge blog, our October theme is Embossing.

The digital image I used is called Candy Cane Corner by The Stamping Boutique.  I copied and pasted the image twice on a file, used my image editor to manipulate it so that one of them is facing the other direction.  I first colored them with coloring pencils, then stamp and heat emboss the surrounding area.  I trimmed it slightly smaller to fit my card base.  Then I stamped, heat embossed, and die cut the sentiment and adhered to card.

Supplies:

Digital image: Candy Cane Corner
Coloring pencils
Penny Black clear stamp - Sentimental
Simon Says Stamp - Congratulations
Vera Mark watermark ink
Gold embossing powder
My Favorite Things  Die-namics - Stitched Rec STAX
