Christmas Cards 2021-Jan-16

 Hi,

It's never too early for me to start my Christmas/Holiday card stash.  And I've just gathered all my Christmas theme craft goods and placed them together in a place.  So far it deemed useful!!  Because I've rediscovered an older embossing folder and stamp that haven't been used since a long time.

I embossed the image with heavy weight card stock, then again on scrap.  I cut the snowman image out from the scrap and used for masking.  Then I applied and blended the background with three distress inks, spritzed with some water, splatter with some ink and some white paint.  Sentiment is heat embossed.  Then I slightly scored the edge of the card panel to give a 3D look and adhere to blue card base.

Now this brings me to a question, is this the front of a snowman or the back?!  I am still wondering, what do you think?

Ombre butterfly

Hello,

The power was out earlier, thank goodness it's during the day, and as long as there is daylight I can craft!!  Luckily the power came back soon, otherwise I couldn't use my heat gun!!  LOL

For this CAS card, I first stamp the butterfly from the Hero Arts Greetings set in an ombre fashion on white card stock.  Next I used coloring pencils to add in a tiny bit of details, and then hand cut it.  The following step is to clear heat emboss the entire butterfly.

On a separate piece of 4.25 by 5.5 inch white card panel I stamped the leaves from Altenew Warm Wishes set in Spun Sugar, and then the sentiment in black.  Then with my stylus and trimmer I scored the pancel from backside 1/4 inch from the edge all around to create the embossed frame.

Lastly I glue the panel to a white card base, and adhered the butterfly.

Here's a closer look, you could see the shine from the clear embossing.

Christmas Cards 2019-Jan-11

Hello,

The weather here is cold, sunny and sparkly, perfect inspiration for Christmas cards!  I gave my Hero Arts Dazzling Snowflake stamp some inky love and made two cards.

I heat embossed it with Gold Glitter Embossing Powder first on kraft card stock, and I thought the Gold Glittered didn't show well, so I did another on just white card stock.  What do you think?

I didn't want the sentiment to compete with the snowflake but want to keep the same color scheme, so I just heat embossed it in gold embossing powder.

Here's a close up of the glittery goodness.

Addicted to CAS - Code Word Girl Power

Hi everybody,

I am so happy and honoured to be guest designing for Addicted To CAS today.  For the new challenge, the code word is:

Here's what I came up with.

Behind the vellum the Number Pattern background is stamped in Spun Sugar, the vellum gives it a softer look.  The main focus - the girl's silhouette is cut from pattern paper and layered on dark chocolate card stock and trimmed again.  It is then adhere to the vellum panel over a Concord & 9 Butterfly die cut (which I cut apart for spacing purpose).  The sentiment banners are also cut from pattern paper and adhere using foam tape.  I am pleased how it turn out.  And I do hope I've inspired you to play along.

Now hop over to Addicted To CAS and check out their DT's wonderful inspiration projects.

2018 Spring + Summer Coffee Bloghop card 4

Happy Monday everybody, hope it is a good start of the week for you!!

It's day four of the 2018 Spring + Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop, my card today is inspired by summer vacation.  You know summer vacation often involve the ocean/the sea, so I came up this idea.

I got a Cracked Texture embossing folder and to me it looks a giant coral.  So I applied tumble glass onto the embossed panel, stamp my sentiment (probably should have done this first), and added my sweet mermaid and her gigantic coffee, both were stamped in Jet Black and watercolored.  To add a bit of shine, I added Clear Wink of Stella on her tail, and Sprinkled Sugar on the cup.  Here's close up.

Other Challenges:

Supplies:

Hero Arts Color Layering Seahorse (sentiment from this set)
Ranger Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass, Bundled Sage)
Ranger Archival Ink (Jet Black)
Watercolors
Wink of Stella (Clear)
Ranger Stickles (Sprinkled Sugar)

Thanks for visiting.  I wish you a sweet day!
