Blooming Beauty Tag

Hello there,

The pretty image I used on my project reminds me of botanical illustrations found in old horticulture books.  So I decided to age it by making it look like drawing on a wood plank.

I printed and watercolored the image, die cut and then dry embossing using a wood grain folder.  The texture tag is distressed with Antique Linen.  Then I adhere is to a wood sheet panel and then onto the white card base.

Here's a closer look at the wood grain texture.

More Than Cake Grid Card

Monday Monday,

It's a rainy day here where I am, and I needed a pick-me-upper!  So straight to craft room with coffee and made something pretty!  LOL

I made this card as part of the Altenew Paper Crafting and Beyond On-line Class homework, one of the assignment is to make a pocket scrapbook spread, but I don't have a pocket scrapbook, so I made a grid card instead.  :)

I created the "journaling cards" using watercolor paper.  For the cake, flower, and macarons cards, I stamped the images with Soft Granite ink, and painted with distress ink spritzed with Perfect Pearl solution.  On the cake I white heat embossed it and colored the negative space.  For the flower card I dotted the flower center with a black glaze pen to counter balance with the black sentiment.

For the card with sentiment, I inked the stamp (from the Homemade Tags set) with the diluted distress ink, stamped and let the color dripped down on it's side.  I love these luminous soft pastel colors!!

The sentiment is stamped in black after the panel dried.

I was inspired by the soft color palette in the Altenew April Inspiration challenge photo, and the rainbow motif on the cup.

Challenges:

Supplies:

Ranger Distress Ink (Barn Door, Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, Squeezed Lemonade, Peeled Paint, Broken China)
Versamark Watermark Ink Pad
Ranger Super Fine Detail White Embossing Powder
Hero Arts Shadow Ink (Soft Granite)
Memento Dye Ink (Tuxedo Black)

Thanks for visiting today, enjoy the rest of the day!

Hero Arts Winged Friends on a2z

Happy April's Fool!!

But no joke or prank here, just a fun post.  It's the first day of the month and a new challenge begins on a2z Scrapbooking.  This month's challenge theme:  Fun Folds!

I did a gate fold card using the Hero Arts Winged Friends Digi Kit.

The butterflies are printed on white card stock and colored with Copic Markers.  Then I trimmed them out and adhere to a gate fold card base.   Note that the antenna were too thin to cut around, so I use die cut from Memory Box to replace it.   I closely trimmed to top portion of the front flaps so one could see part of the inside of the card.  I also positioned the butterflies so that when the card is closed, the wings interlocks so the card won't spring open by itself.   Here's view of the card when it's opened.

It's fun, isn't it?  Be sure to hop over to a2z Scrapbooking and check out my team mates' inspirations; and join in the challenge.

Supplies:

Copic Markers (15,Y17,YR18,R39,RV63,RV66,Y12,Y14,Y16)
Hero Arts Layering Butterflies {sentiment from this set}
Ranger Distress Ink (Broken China)

Thanks for stopping by.  I wish you a fun and happy day!

Dainty Bouquet Hello

Happy Friday!!

And yes I am happy to share a card I made with my new stamp set, Altenew Dainty Bouquet.

I am inspired by the colors and the lone bloom in the Altenew February Inspiration Challenge photo (as below).  I stamped the base coat of the floral image and foilage with Wet Cement.  For the second and third layers of the flower I used Picked Raspberry and Purple Ombre Ink Pad.  The the darker color of the leaves are Field Green and Chipped Sapphire.  I used coloring pencils to add in  shadows and details.  The sentiment (from the SSS Sketched Flower set) is stamped in Wet Cement.

Sugartree Stamps Release Bloghop & Giveaway

Welcome to my stop of the Sugartree Stamps Release Bloghop!

Sugartree Stamps from a2z Scrapbooking is releasing three new digi stamps today.  If you've arrived from Arlene McClung you're at the right place.  If not you could start from the beginning at a2z Scrapbooking or if you got lost you can refer to the full hop list later in the post.

Now onto my card.  I used the mini Sweet Tea set.

I sized and printed the mason jar several times and colored using coloring pencils then hand cut.  For the background I die cut the Confetti background using a piece of coated paper (so there is some resist), and lay this die cut panel on top of white card stock like a stencil.  Then I sprayed generously using Passion Flower Ink Spray, lift the die cut and heat set the pattern.  To tone it down and to give it some visual dimension, I added a vellum over it.  Then I added the scallop panel on top and bottom (with stamped sentiment).  Lastly I adhered my mini teas.

Did I say Giveaway?  Of course I did!  a2z is giving away 3 Sugartree Sets of the Winner's Choice to 1 lucky hopper, all you have to do is comment. One winner will be chosen by random draw from the comments left across all of the participating blogs, the more blogs you comment on the more chances to win!  Leave your comments by 11:59pm May 31st. Winner will be contacted via email and announced on the a2z winners post June 7th.

Your next stop on the hop is Helen Gullett.

Here's the full hop list should you lost your way.
