Christmas Cards 2021-Jan-16

 Hi,

It's never too early for me to start my Christmas/Holiday card stash.  And I've just gathered all my Christmas theme craft goods and placed them together in a place.  So far it deemed useful!!  Because I've rediscovered an older embossing folder and stamp that haven't been used since a long time.

I embossed the image with heavy weight card stock, then again on scrap.  I cut the snowman image out from the scrap and used for masking.  Then I applied and blended the background with three distress inks, spritzed with some water, splatter with some ink and some white paint.  Sentiment is heat embossed.  Then I slightly scored the edge of the card panel to give a 3D look and adhere to blue card base.

Now this brings me to a question, is this the front of a snowman or the back?!  I am still wondering, what do you think?

Christmas Cards 2019-Sept-15

Good Sunday everybody,

It's been close to two months since I've made a Christmas card.  But today I have two to add to my stash.

First up, I have a Scandinavian style card.  I used KaiserCraft DIY cut Knit Borders on white card stock, and layered the die cut pieces onto red card panel.  The sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Inside Holiday Greetings is white heat embossed.  I die cut another border in red to decorate the envelope.

My second card I titled Christmas Cake!!  I stamped one of the cakes images from Alternew Cake Love set in Jet Black and watercolored.  The die cut decoration on the cake comes from the negatives piece I saved from making the first card.  :)  To ground my cake, I created with a 'table top' with Alternew Frilly Frame.  The sentiment I put together using various stamp set.  Oh how I wish I have a stamp set that says that!!

I also spritzed some Perfect Pearl solution in the background to add a bit of interest.

Christmas Cards 2019-Feb-18

Hi,

Got a couple more Christmas cards to add to my stash.

I created a CAS look with subtle pattern in the background.  I embossed a white card panel with KaiserCraft Snowflakes Embossing Folder, then I passed it thru the die cut machine again sandwiched between plain heavy weight paper and the cutting plates.  This flatten the embossing but the pattern is still there.

Then I gold heat embossed Hero Arts Peace & Joy.  And glue the panel to a card base which has gold glitter tape adhere on the bottom edge.  I rounded the top corners to add interest.

Guest Designer at CAS Christmas Challenge

Hi everybody,

I am so very happy and excited to be Guest Designing for CAS Christmas Challenge today.  My cardinal card was the Top Pick for October's challenge, and today I have the honor to guest design for the December's Challenge.

Here's my take:

You know the funny thing is I don't own a large star stamp, and I search high and low for something appropriate to use for my project.  But I realized that I do not have to stamp a star.  :)

So here's what I did.  I first stamp in clear embossing ink the Leaf And Floral Background (from Hero Arts) and heat embossed with Suger Cube glitter embossing powder (from Martha Stewart).  Then I use a star shape template, trace and cut the star out.  Punch hole on top, thread some glittery ribbon and tie, and added a clear sticker (from my stash) to the center.  To add  a little interest in the background without clutter, I stamped and embossed a trail of small stars using same EP on the card base.  I rounded the corners and adhere my star using some foam adhesive.

The most difficult part of the whole process is to photograph it.  LOL

I hope you would join in the fun at CAS Chrsitmas Challenge.  See you there.

Christmas Cards 2018-Sep-10

Hello,

I am so excited about today's Christmas cards!!  I am casing Jennifer McGuire's Wreath Builder cards,  After I made a few trial runs (which I enjoyed), I made a couple cards I really like.

I must clarify I tried the technique only and not the product because I don't have them.

The first card I built the wreath on a 4 x 4 inch square white panel, then trimmed and layered onto my card base which has golden heat embossed sentiment.

After I stamped all the elements of the wreath, I added some Candy Cane Stickles on the berries, and painted some pine branches with Hero Arts Glimmer Metallic Gold Ink.  The gold foiled bow is die cut using Hero Art Ornaments Infinity Dies.

Supplies for this card:

Cloud 9 Design Clear Stamp
Ranger Distress Ink (Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint)
Ranger Stickles (Candy Cane)
Gold Embossing Powder

For my second card, I wanted to make it CAS.  So I decided to stamp the wreath right onto the card front.  But I wasn't very successful in centering the wreath.  So instead of rotating the paper, I rotated the stamp instead.

To do that, I secure both my guide (for the stamp, on to the base of the MISTI, the left of the photo), and the card (on the door, stamp size down when door closed, right side of the photo) with washi tape.  I used a piece acetate for adhering the stamp.  To stamp the wreath, I inked the stamp and then close the MISTI door onto it.  In other words I am bringing the paper to the stamp, then I rotate the acetate with stamp using the guide and repeated the stamping.  I hope this make sense.

After I finished building the wreath I added Stickles and painted some highlights with Perfect Pearl solutions.  But I miss judged the distance between wreath and sentiment, so I added a Cardinal bird to link them together.

Supplies for this card:

Winner & Walter Hollie's Festive Florals
Ranger Distress Ink (Barn Door, Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Chipped Sapphire, Vintage Photo)
Brass Embossing Powder
Ranger Stickles (Candy Cane, Star Dust, Cool Mint)
Ranger Perfect Pearl Powder
White Gel Pen
