CAS Thank You

Well today is the last day of February already!!  Where did it go?

Regardless, A Blog Name Hero February Challenge is Clean and Simple.

And I am sharing a CAS Thank You card.   Let's get right to it.

I used my Garden Flowers by Lia to stamp a border using various inks.  I add strip of Antique Gold glitter paper (from MMHK December 2016) behind the panel and adhere to white card base.  The "thanks" is die cut using same glitter paper, the bottom half of the sentiment is stamp and clear heat embossed.  To add some details to the flowers, I added so me dots with Gold Uni-ball Gel Pen (from MMHK December 2016).

Supplies:
Hero Arts Clear Stamp - Garden Flowers by Lia
Hero Arts Stamp and Cut - Thanks
Hero Arts Ink Cubes - Amy's Shades of Green
Hero Arts Ink Cubes - Jaynes's Fall Colors
Hero Arts Omber Ink - Vintage Metallic Rust
Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit - December 2016
Clear embossing powder

Thanks for visiting, have a lovely day!

Layering Sunbrust Hello

Hello,

Welcome back!  Today I am playing along A Blog Named Hero's January Challenge - New To Me.

I used my new Hero Arts Paper Layering Sunburst Die (from the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit - December 2016), and the Old Gold Glitter paper that came with the kit.  I die cut twice the sunburst back to back, layer it on top a pattern paper, lift the layers and add die cut heart in the middle.

I love the dimension the Layering Die gives!!  Come join in the fun and play along.

And if you think this card looks familiar, you're absolutely right.  I must have remembered Jennifer McGuire's card (for Hero Arts 2017 Valentine Collection Blog Hop), and CASEd her.  :)

Let's Celebrate

Hello my craft friends,

This is my second post of the day, for my a2z post sneak peek, please click Here.

I am thankful for many things, including new craft supplies.  I was lucky to win a Monthly Hero Kit (December 2016), wow what a fun kit!!  So for my January Challenge at A Blog Named Hero - New To Me challenge, I use my new kit.

One of my new year resolutions is to use my big stash collection of pretty papers, so instead of stamping the background, I use pattern paper and slightly distressed.

I colored the images with coloring pencils and die cut using coordinating Frame Cuts dies.  To add some sparkles I used my VersaMarker on selected areas and heat embossed with the Gold Glitter Embossing Powder that came with the kit.

Come join in the fun and play along the January Challenge at A Blog Named Hero - New To Me (use a new craft item, try a new technique, etc).

Partial die cutting My Monthly Hero Kit - 104 (card 3)

Welcome back to my blog.

This is my second post of the day, for my Die Cut Diva's post, please scroll down or click Here.

Now let's talk about the new challenge of June at a2z Scrapbooking Supplies.  This month's challenge To Die For - use a Hero Arts cutting die.

My project today is an easel card made using the partial die cutting technique.

I've taken some photos while making this card, you know what they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.  So instead of typing how I did it, let's take a look.

Stamp and heat emboss flower in the center of card.  Mask flower, stamp and heat emboss leaves.  (Sorry I forgot the name of the embossing powder, it's like a very pale gold.)
Secure outline cutting die on flower with Washi tape.
Align cutting plate edge at center of card and secure card on plate with Washi tape.
Place the other plate on top of card and pass thru the die cut machine.

Remove cutting die, make a score line accross the center of card avoiding the flower and leave.

Stamp and heat emboss rows of small flowers, extra leaf and sentiment.  Apply water colours to the images.
Once dried attach border with foam adhesive along bottom edge inside the card.
Trim and attached the extra leaf on top of flower.
And volia!  This card will have plenty dimension but without the bulk.  Here's a shot of the closed card:

All stamp images from My Monthly Hero Kit -  April 2016.  I know this kit has already been sold out, but you could use many other large flower die cut in it's place, such as this You're So Lovely Stamp set and the match frame cut.

MMHK104-Card 2

Happy Wednesday everybody!

Today I am sharing a card inspired by designs in an older Hero Arts catalog.

My mojo was playing hide and seek with me last week, I got tired of looking for it so I decided to flip thru some older catalog instead.  Hahaha!!  I was inspired by these cards on pg 58 of the Hero Arts 2011 catalog.

I really like the kraft on white combo and how the flowers are filled in with white on the bottom card.  Also the scallop border on the top one intrigued me.  And I came up with this:

I stamp with black ink, then colour in the leaves and flower using cream and pale pink colouring pencils.  The flower center is embellished with a pearl and highlighted with white gel pen.  Sentiment is stamp in white and heat embossed with white powder.

Supplies:

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit 104
Hero Arts Stamp & Cut (So Sorry)
Memento Dye Ink (Tuxedo Black)
Hero Arts Pigment Ink (Unicorn)
white embossing powder
colouring pencils
