Oxeye Daisy

 Hello there,

On today's card, I stamped the outline with a light grey shadow ink instead of the usual black.  What do you think, do the flowers look more natural without the hard outline, or it's too pale to stand out?

I was inspired by the lovely coneflower from the inspiration photo below:

Challenges:

Supplies:

Ranger Distress Ink (Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Peeled Paint, Uncharted Mariner, Aged Mahogany,  Vintage Photo)
Altenew Warm Grey Enamel Dots

A Big Hug

 Hi everyone,

As soon as I saw the sunflower in the Altenew March 2025 Inspiration Challenge Photo, I immediately thought of the White Cap Peonies Layering Stencil set in my stash, it's so fun to ink it up in yellow/orange.

I also just got some Shimmer Relief Paste, so I had to add some to my Peonies, not sure if the last layer (of the stencil) is the right layer to do it, but I think it turned out okay.

Surprise!  There are more Peonies inside this pop-up card.

The pink/red Peony is attached to the pop-up mechanism, and the yellow one is attached to the back panel.

Challenges:

Supplies:

Altenew Crisp Dye Ink (Citrus Burst, Limeade, Bamboo, Sunkissed)
Hero Arts Dye Ink (Lemon Yellow, Butter Bar, Orange, Ultra Pink, Red Royal, Crimson, Lime Green, Field Greens)
Pinkfresh Dye Ink (Warm Buff, Misty Coast)
Stamperia Dye Ink (Coffee)
Memento Dye Ink (Tuxedo Black)

Thanks for coming to see me, have a sweet day!

Christmas Card 2024-Nov-12

 Hello there,

Every once in a while I like to use non Christmas image to create Christmas card.  Like this one I've made today.

I colored the coloring card that comes in with my Altenew Happy Mail, trimmed, and mount on white panel.  I wrapped Altenew Antique Gold Metallic thread several times on the side and secured, glue three Altenew Antique Gold sequins for embellishment.  Then the whole panel is adhered to the dry embossed background.

I may not have an sentiment on the outside of the card, but I think the color scheme suggest that it is a Christmas card.  What do you think?

This is how the coloring card looks like before I trimmed it out.

Supplies:

Altenew Festive Greenery 3D Embossing Folder
Altenew Antique Gold Metallic Thread

Adventure Awaits

 Hello,

The World In Bloom Die Set from Altenew's August release really caught my eyes, and I am lucky my local stamp store already has it in the store.  So I got me a set and this is the first card I created with it.

The globe image from the Big World Stamp set is slightly smaller but with some distressing on the edge, it looks fine underneath the grid.

I am linking up to these challenges:

Always Sunshine

 Hi,

No matter the weather outside, if I could play at my desk, sunshine is always there!  So this Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit, Always Sunshine is very fitting for my project today.

I used the embossing folder for the background, then lay the stencil over it and ink blended the raised leaves with Limeade and Bamboo.  Then I glue it to the top fold card front up-side-down cause I wanted the foliage on the top.

The middle (arch) layer is die cut with gold and red card stock, and I added a layer of vellum.

The focal image was heat embossed with Gold Pearl embossing powder and watercolored, then die cut.  Antique Gold sequins are used to embellish.

I didn't add any sentiment on the card front, I will write something inside when I send it out.  I just had pure fun creating it.

Challenges:

Supplies:

Versamark Watermark Ink
Gold Pearl Embossing Powder

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day and hope it's filled with sunshine!

Metallic Watercolor

 Hey everyone,

I've got happy mail yesterday, yes my Altenew Metallic watercolor arrived.  So naturally I had to swatch it and play with it.  I colored a page out of the Altenew Watercoloring Book.  Trimmed it down and made this card.

Don't you love that shimmer?  I do!!

I painted the image with the metallic watercolor, but for the background I inked blended over the Fine Tulle stencil with distress inks, then inked blended more after removing the stencil, added some water splatter.

I am going to link up to Altenew Educators Secret Card Recipe Linky party.  My secret card recipe is to use products I really like for my projects.

Christmas Cards 2022-Aug-16

 Hi,

I am sharing un-usual Christmas card today.  My card layout is inspired by Virginia Lu in this post.  I want to use something fun and non-traditional for my card, so I picked Altenew's Poised Flamingo Stamp.

I stamped and colored the flamingo with alcohol markers, then die cut.  It then is adhered to Altenew's Frilly Frame die. I ink blended the middle section of the die cut to give some contrast, then it all goes on to an ombre paper background.

Christmas Tags 2020-Nov-17

 Hello there,

I am taking a break from Christmas cards, but I am making Christmas tags!  😄

First up I am inspired by Lindsey's lovely tags displayed on Day 3 of 25 Days of Christams Tags.  Here's my take:

I went with a blue and gold color combination.  The background in the round tags is Round Art Washi from Altenew.

My next set is really fun, using both positive and negative of the die cuts.

On the top tag, I lined up Altenew Sweet Pea Palette Washi on white card stock, die cut tag and "joy".  This "negative" piece is then glue on a second white tag, and I glue the center pieces back.  On the second the "positive" dies are glue onto same shape tag with Round Art Washi underneath.

Challenges:
