Watercolor Lavender Mini slim on Die Cut Divas

 Hello there,

I am sharing another watercolor card in the mini slim format on Die Cut Divas today.  I recently got the Lavender Bud Stamp & Die bundle from Altenew, and I so enjoy playing with it.

For my background panel, I spritzed water all over a mixed media paper, and onto it I dropped some Bamboo and Frayed Leaf watercolor.  Then stamped the Lavender in Milled Lavender, Picked Raspberry, and Shabby Shutter before the panel completely dries; this created a soft, layered watercolor look.

For the focal element, I first made impression of the the Lavender stem using the die and silicon mat, this way I made sure I'd stamp in the right place.  Next I stamp with Milled Lavender and Peeled Paint, then I added details with Altenew watercolors.

After I completed adding more watercolors in Midnight Violet, Deep Iris, Lavender Fields and Persian Blue, I let them dry and die cut for good.

To assemble my card, I distress the background panel with Peeled Paint, glue it to the mini slim card base, arrange and adhered the Lavender Buds and added loops of Antique Gold Thread (I am channeling Virginia here), and added the sentiment strip.

I really like how this turned out.

And I hope you're inspired to come play our August challenge - Watercolor, real or faux at Die Cut Divas.  You don't have to so everything in watercolor to achieve a watercolor look.

Altenew is our sponsor this month, and the challenge winner would recieve $20 gift certificate to the Altenew store.  See you in the challenge gallery.

I am also linking up to these challenges:

Supplies:

Ranger Distress Ink (Peeled Paint, Milled Lavender, Picked Raspberry, Shabby Shutter)
Memento Dye Ink (Tuxedo Black)

11 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 7 and 8

Hi,

The day got away from me yesterday, so I didn't write my post.  Coloring is very theroputic, well it was until I dropped my marker and made a mark!

See that green spot on the left?!  Yikes!!

This is where I was yesterday (day 7).

The floral image is called Gratitude by Rachel Vass Designs.  I resized it, paste and rotate to make a wreath.  I used red and white on the flower for I want to make it a Christmas wreath.

A quick note:  Rachel is having a 40% sale, now thru Nov 22nd.  Click here to start shopping.

Supplies:

Copic Markers

Well, until tomorrow, stay safe!!

11 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 6

Happy Monday everyone!!

Today I completed my Owl coloring page.  I went with a medium dark background hoping to bring the color in focus, but I am too chicken to go too dark!  LOL

I applied mat medium and adhere glitter to the trim is his hat and black glaze to his eyes.

Here's a quick review of the previous two day's progress.

Thanks for visiting.  Have a lovely day!!

11 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 5

Happy Sunday everyone!!

I got more colored on my Owl coloring page today.  Spent over an hour on it, and it was very relaxing!!  I didn't care too much about shadows or details.  Just colored away!  😄

Hmm...now my biggest issue would be the background.  What color shall I put?!

Oh a side note, Rachel Vass Designs is having a 40% sale on all digital stamps, starts today and ends Nov 22nd.  I am calling it an early Black Friday Sale.

Go check it out, her digital stamps are very pretty and great for coloring!!  Click here to start shopping!

Until tomorrow, stay safe and have a crafty day!!

11 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 4

Hi,

I gave myself a 10 minutes window to do some coloring today.  And that's all I did.  I am slow crafter, what can I say?!

The page I am coloring is from a Coloring Block named Holiday Trendz I have in my stash for a while now.  Well, there is no time better than now to start coloring it, right?  And Please tell me I am not the only one who is using one's children's old school/art supplies.  The markers in the photo were used by my sons when they were in elementary school.  Now they're in university and I end up using them.  LOL

See you again tomorrow.  Have a pleasant day!!

11 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 3

 Happy Friday everyone!!

Anyone having coffee and coloring?  Join the club.

For my simple card, I printed sentiment from Rachel Vass Designs Sketchy Rose Teacups Digi Stamp, and STAMPloration Coffee and Holly Digi Stamp on multi media paper panel, and watercolored.  To ground the image, I stenciled Altenew Doily Frame Stencil.

11 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 2

Hello,

On this day 2 of the 11 Day Coloring Challenge, I completed the project I started yesterday.

I stamped some leaves to go with the poinsettias, and very lightly inked with a stencil the card front base.  Heat embossed the sentiment, and adhere the poinsettis along the edge of the front flap.  And lastly splattered some Gold ink.  It turned out quicky nicely, but I have to admit that it is a happy mistake.  I was making a 3 1/2 by 8 1/2 inch slim line card, but I cut at the wrong place.  So to salvage it, I came with this design instead.

Here's a quick peek of the underside of the front flap, I die cut more poinsettias using pattern paper and glue them on so it's neat and tidy.

And here's a close up look.

Challenges:

Supplies:

Ranger Distress Ink (Bundled Sage)
Versamark Watermark Ink
Wow Metallic Gold Rich Super Fine Embossing Powder

11 Day Coloring Challenge - Day 1

Kathy created an eleveth day Coloring Challenge for us, and it starts today.  I am excited to join in the fun.  So for the first day, I stamped and heat embossed the veins of the Color Laying Poinsettia and watercolored the rest.  These will go onto a Christmas card.

Do come back tomorrow to see my finished project.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a crafty day!

30 Day Coloring (Jul26)

I cut the rainbow color rice paper and applied to my mini art journal cover.

I adhere the strips with mat medium, then stamped the title (source forgotten), images (Simon Says Stamps Crafty Friends Stamp set), month (source unknown), year (Altenew Book Club Stamp set), and dotted frame (Imanginisce) in Jet Black Archival Ink.  I thought since we're talking about coloring, some ink splashes are in order.  Thus I took my Hero Arts Ink Daubers (yes I still have them) and dropped them onto the surface to make those ink spots (it didn't splash as much as I wanted).  Next I splattered some white paint all over, and coated the whole cover with glossy accent (to make sure nothing peels off).

Thanks for coming over to my blog.  See you again soon.

30 Day Coloring (Jul25)

Day 25 of Kathy's 17th 30 Day Coloring Challenge

Today was a very special day for me, I went and donated blood for the very first time!!  I went with my youngest (he had donated many times before) and it was a special activities for us to do together.  Everything well smoothly, and I wasn't as tired as I expected.  But still I took it easy.

I watercolor rainbow strips on a piece of rice paper.  This will be applied to the outer cover of my mini art journal book.

Do come back tomorrow and find out how I'd use this.  Bye for now.

30 Day Coloring (Jul24)

Today I added more elements to the "print making" on my mini art journal's inside cover, and distressed the edges.

I really like how this turned out, but it's a bit busy for me to add the colored die cuts directly on top.  So I buffered it with Altenew Garden Trellis die cut.

How is your progress for this challenge coming along?  Hope you're having fun just like I am.

See you tomorrow!

30 Day Coloring (Jul23)

On this 23rd day of the challenge, I am trying the "Print Making" technique Kathy shown us on her Day 1 post.

I used some Altenew Layered Floral Element Die cuts and Altenew Watercolors.  I would more work to complete this inside cover for my mini art journal book.

So until next time, stay safe and have some crafty time!
