Altenew Academy Creative Masking Techniques homework lesson 5

Happy Sunday my craft friends, I hope you have some crafty time like me.

Today I've decide to skip ahead and do homework for lesson 5 of Altenew Academy Creative Masking Techniques.

I call this an 'intermediate slimline' card (3 3/4 by 6 3/4 in).  Why?  I was using a piece of card stock left over, and it is not the standard size.  That's the reason.  LOL

I used Dot Botanicals Die Set for masks.  Ink blended in rainbow colors the background, apply some ink spray, then lift off masks.  Added some light weight gold (colored) wire and adhere sentiment strip.

Supplies:

Altenew Dot Botanicals Die Set
Ranger Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Barn Door, Wild Honey, Mustard Seed, Peel Paint, Chipped Sapphire)
Memento Dye Ink (Tuxedo Black)
Nuvo Mica Mist (Pink Carnation)
Ranger Dylusions Ink Spray (Vanilla Custard)

Thanks for coming over to my blog.  Have a sweet day!

Altenew Academy Creative Masking Techniques homework 2

Happy Friday everyone!!

From lesson 2 of Altnew Academy Creative Masking Techniques online class, I leanrt to mask designer paper.  That is such a great and clever idea, because I got some beautiful and bright paper I find hard to use.  But not any more.

I masked the background pattern paper (from the Altenew Reflection Collection Paper & Sticker Bundle) and ink blend with Purple Wine, that toned down the brightness of the paper.  I had so much fun using parts of two cakes and combined into one, and colored in Copic markers.  Sentiment white heat embossed on black cardstock and die cut.

Supplies:

Copic Markers
Memento Dye Ink (Tuxedo Black)
Versamark Watermark Ink
White Embossing Powder

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I wish you a lovely day!

Climber Flowers Mini Slim Line Card

 Hello there,

I've just finished taking Altenew Academy All About Layering 6 - Dies Edition online class, and finally got a homework done.  Yes I am rather slow creating for this class, but I don't mind I am enjoying the process very much.

I CASE'd Lydia Evans, the class intstructor's inspiration card pretty much to the T, except I made a mini slim line version.

The flowers are leaves are die cut from watercolored panel and glue together.  I really like how this turned out even though I didn't use extra die cut on the back of the vellum.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Have a good one.

Ranger Distress Ink (Tumble Glass, Broken China, Peeled Paint)
Memento Dye Ink (Tuxedo Black)

Altenew Academy Creative Coloring with Erum less 4&5 homework

 Hello,

I am sharing a homework project created with techniques learnt from two lessons (4 & 5) of the Altenew Academy Creative Coloring with Erum online class.  In lesson 4, we learnt about watercolor dripped background, and in lesson 5 various watercolor techniques.

For the flower I chose the splatter technique, instead color each petal, I splatter watercolor all over and just use the brush to loosely push the pigments into place.  Once it dried, I added some stippling to create shadow.

The sentiment is from the Sophisticated Wreath stamp set and I have been wanting to stamp it on something, and I find today's carefree and loose style is perfect for it.

Supplies:

Memento Dye Ink (Tuxedo Black)
Ranger Archival Ink (Jet Black)
White Acrylic Paint

Thanks for visiting.  I wish you a day just like a Saturday!!

Altenew Academy Creative Coloring with Erum lesson 3 homework

 Hi,

Sharing homework again!  For the third lesson of Altenew Academy Creative Coloring with Erum lesson 3, painting with stencil.

I used my Color Block Hearts Stencil, ink blend with soft grey dye ink.

Then I watercolored the heart shapes in various red and pink tone, once dried, I added stippling to create an ombre/shadow look.  I really enjoy the process as well as the result, and want to make it the focal element.  But I couldn't just leave it as it, could I?!  😁 So I die cut with Simple Friend die and did a raised inlaid die look (I am pretty sure there is a proper name for this technique, but I can't remeber it right now).  The sentiment is stamped and clear heat embossed.

Supplies:

Memories Dye Ink (Soft Grey)
Versamark Watermark Ink
Clear Embossing Powder

Thanks for visiting.  I wish you a great day!

Altenew Academy Creative Coloring with Erum Lesson 2 Homework

Happy Monday everyone!!

In lesson 2 of Altenew Academy Creative Coloring with Erum we learnt to add texture to our projects.  Textures like embossing paste or visual.

For my homework, I created a visual texture in the background and added embossing paste.

I created the wood texture by adding watercolor to a mixed media paper panel, starting with a light wash, and then slowly added in layers of colors changing from wet brush to dry brush.  This is how it looks like before I added embossing paste.

Here's a close up of the focal elements.

Challenges:

Supplies:

Holbein Artists' Watercolor
Staedtler Karat Watercolor Pencils
Ranger Archival Ink (Jet Black)
Versamark Watermark Ink
Clear Embossing Powder
White Embossing Powder
Golden Gel Medium Light Molding Paste

Thanks for coming over to my blog.  Cheer!
