Joy on Die Cut Divas

 Happy June 1st everyone!

I am sharing a card inspired by a warm color palette on  Die Cut Divas.

This month on Die Cut Divas, we're having a color challenge.  Use at least three or more colors from the below palette , with optional black and white and skin tone on people for your project.  Of course add die cut and/or dry embossing.

I created an ombre panel using "Pale Pink", "Coral", and "Wine".  Then I die cut it with the detail layer of the Poppystamps' Nordic Flourish Background die set.

Next I die cut the outline using vellum and glue the detail layer on top of the vellum.  I also die cut another detail layer using white card stock and glue it to the back of the flourish piece before gluing it to the white card front.  Then I adhere the 'joy' with foam adhesive.

Our sponsor this month is Poppystamps.  They are giving a $20 gift card to their store as the challenge prize.

Come on over to Die Cut Divas and check out the rest of the inspirations created by the design team.

The sentiment is stamped and hand cut.

Pop-up Joy on Die Cut Divas

 Hello there,

Do you use non-holiday stamp/die to make holiday cards?  I do.  And I am sharing a couple on Die Cut Divas Challenge Blog today.

First of all, I would like to give a big shout out to my Die Cut Divas design team mate Linda W., she sent me some lovely Poppystamps Fern and Daisy Pop-up Easel die cuts.  They've been sitting in my Treasure Bin (a bin filled with special supplies for use on special occasions) waiting to be used for some special cards.  Well, today is that day, I chose a green set and a white set and I made two holiday cards with them.  Let's take a look.

I am very happy how they turned out.  The "Joy" die I used has been retired, but these other "joy" dies from Poppystamps are very good substitutes:  Double Joy, Joy Freestyle Script, & Stacked Joy.

I added a oval die cut of script pattern paper to the Fern and Daisy die cuts, glued the Joy die cuts with foam adhesive.  The flowers are colored with alcohol markers.

The "stopper" is a gold heat embossed sentiment from Mama Elephant.

I hope you're inspired to play along our August challenge: Pop-up Creations.  Create a pop-up card for any occasion and join in the fun.  Our August sponsor on Die Cut Divas Challenge Blog is Poppystamps.

Supplies for my card:

House with Joy on Die Cut Divas

 Hey there,

Hope all is well.  Yes it's the middle of Summer, but I am constantly adding to my holiday card stash.  Today I share with you a bird house shape card on Die Cut Divas Challenge Blog.

I really like my Poppystamps Bird House Pop-up Easel Set, it's so fun to make card with.  I paired it with Poppystamps Holiday Joy die set today.  I used some pattern paper, glitter paper, and dark chocolate card stock, et voila, another holiday card done!

August's challenge theme on Die Cut Divas is: Shape Card (any shape excluding square and rectangle), and Poppystamps is our sponsor.  Challenge will receive $20 gift card to their store.

Oh wait, while I got my die cut machine out, I made another shape card using a die - Poppystamps Stain Glass Snowflake, my blog friend Arlene gave me.

I use the big die from Hero Arts Big and Small Snowflake Frame Cut set to cut the card base. I cut it three times.  One for the back flap, and two are die cut with the Stain Glass Snowflake, and I use them to sandwiched a piece of acetate which I dry emboss the Stain Glass Snowflake and color with alcohol markers.  I embellished with some white/clear sequins.

Supplies:

Poppystamps Holiday Joy Die Set (retired)
Hero Arts Big and Small Snowflake Frame Cut
Mama Elephant Easy Xmas Greeting Clear Stamp Set
Mama Elephant Easy Sentiment Die
Ranger Distress Ink (Walnut Stain)
Memento Dye Ink (Tuxedo Black)
Copic Markers

Open Envelope Shaped Card on Die Cut Divas

 Happy August everyone,

Wow where did the time go when one's having fun crafting?!  Today's card is a shaped card, I made it the shape of an open envelope.

So what you think?

For the card front, I cut a triangle shape piece paper measure 5 1/2 in height, 11 inches long at the base using white card stock.  Next I dry embossed the middle section, then I scored and fold in the two sides, glued at bottom to form this open envelope shape panel.

I then die cut a bunch of flowers and leaves, and the 'hello' and adhere onto my shape card base.  And I embellished the flower center with art pearls.

Do hop over to Die Cut Divas and check out more DT inspiration projects.  August challenge theme is: Shaped Card (any shape except square or rectangle).  Our sponsor this month is Poppystamps and the challenge prize is $20 to their store.  See you over at the challenge gallery.

A window to December 25th on Die Cut Divas

Happy Easter Monday!

While Spring is on my mind, but I am really thinking ahead to Christmas!  LOL

Today's project I created using some of the dies from Poppystamps' Fern and Daisy Pop Up Easel die set.  With my creative license I preserved some spring flowers for a winter wreath.  And I am sharing it on Die Cut Divas.

I created a popup shadow box card (with window), inspired by Jennifer McGuire's video.

I used some doubled pattern paper for the card base, for the card front I 'winterized' it by adding white heat embossing in a distress fashion.  Then die cut circular window on front panel, arrange and adhered the watercolored flowers and leaves (with extra die cut leaves) around the window.  On the inside panel I simply glued the die cuts.

Poppystamps is our sponsor on Die Cut Divas this month, and our challenge theme is Aperture (Window).

Come join in the fun and link up at Die Cut Divas.  Challenge winner will receive $20 gift card to Poppystamps.

Snow Globe Window on Die Cut Divas

Happy April 1st!!

No, no joke here.  I am very serious about the new challenge on Die Cut Divas Challenge Blog.  This month's sponsor is Poppystamps.  You know it, they have really beautiful products especially cutting dies.  Winner would receive $20 gift card to their store.

Now our challenge theme for April is: Aperture (window).  And here's my project.

It features Poppystamps' Snowglobe Kit on the front.  The upperpart of the snow globe is open, a window to the inside.

The deer is also from Poppystamps named Peaceful Deer, I adhered Marigold Micro Fine Glitter to it. Although the die I used has been discontinued, there are other cute one such as: Tender DeerWhittle Deer,  and Playful Deer Collage.

I hope I've inspired you to join the challenge.   Hop over to Die Cut Divas to see more inspirations created by the DT and get full challenge details.

30 Day Coloring (Jul17)

So my original plan of using the alcohol inked panel (done yesterday) on my alcohol inked art journal page does not work because they are of the same pattern and same color scheme.  Hence I went ahead and made another alcohol inked panel using the darker tones.  Then I die cut Poppystamps Marcelle Flower from it and add to my page.  I also added a heat embossed sentiment from the Simon Says Stamps Lovely Spring set.

Now you must have noticed that green ink, it dripped from the page behind (for the 13th).  I didn't put it there on purpose, but it's okay, the green makes the red looks more red!  LOL

Other challenges:

Supplies:

Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Clear Stamp Set
Ranger Tim Holtz alcohol inks (Water Melon, Sunset Orange, Sunshine Yellow, Lettuce, Stream,  Cranberry, and Eggplant)
Ranger Spun Sugar Distress Ink
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Clear Emobossing Powder

Christmas Cards 2018-Oct-21

Hi,

I am so excited to share this card I made with some 'new to me' dies from Memory Box and Poppy Stamps.

Let's take a look:

I used pattern paper for the background.

I die cut the Curved Happy Holidays twice using white card stock, and I glued them together to make it thicker.  For the Peaceful Dear, I adhere some Stick It adhesive to white card stock, then I die cut it once right side up, and once wrong side up, so I have two dears facing each other.  I repeat with white card stock.  With the pieces that has Stick It, I peel off the release paper and sprinkle some clear glitter on it and then furbished, then I glue them to the plain one to give it more weight.

To assemble the card, I glued the pattern paper panel onto a white card base.  Next I added thin strip of foam adhesive near the top of the curved panel, and I applied glue to the bottom edge and adhere to the card front.  I wanted some dimension but didn't want to raise the whole panel.  :)  Next I glued the deers in place.  Finally I applies some Diamond Stickles onto the curved panel.

Big Eye Owl

Hi,

I am playing along the HLS February CAS Challenge.

The embossing folder stamping is a technique where you ink up the raised side of the embossing folder, spritz with water and press your paper down on it so the image is 'stamp'ed onto the paper.  You could get more details on the Happy Little Stamper Challenge blog.

And here's my card:

I used my Darice Sheet Music embossing folder for the background.  The focal point is my owl from Ki Memories, and it's sitting on the Marcelle Flower cut from a die I've won from Poppystamps's January 2016 New Release Blog Blitz!  Thank you Poppystamps!!!   My owl is stamp with Hero Arts Ombre Butterbar to Orange, the I coated it clear embossing ink and heat emboss with clear powder.  I haven't decide on the sentiment yet, it could be birthday, or get well, or friendship; so I'll stamp it as the occasion arises!  ;)

Supplies:
Darice embossing folder (Sheet Music)
Poppystamps cutting die (Marcelle Flower)
Ki Memories stamp (SC0587)
Ranger distress ink (Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Broken China, Wild Honey)
Hero Arts Ombre ink (Butterbar to Orange)
Ki Memories gems (Rec)
Clear embossing ink
Clear embossing powder

Thanks for stopping by, I wish you a lovely day!!
