Christmas Cards 2022-Oct-09

 Hi,

Just a quick share of a pink addition of my Christmas cards stash.

I did some light stenciling (with a tiny bit sprinkle of glitter) on the background pattern paper panel first, once it's dried I adhered a group of pink trees (with some lustre polish) and sentiment strip that was gold heat embossed.  Simple as that.

Christmas Card 2022-Sept-26

 Hi,

I am sharing another addition to my Christmas card stash.  I've just picked up Tim's Distress Mica Stain Holiday Set #3 so....

Don't you love all that shimmery goodness?!  I do!!  I sprayed Winter Frost on the house (die cut using pattern paper), Fresh Balsam on the pine branches, and Tart Cranberry on the birds.   The bird house die is an easel set, but I skipped the easel and just made it a shaped card.

And then I made a matching envelope.

Christmas Cards 2021-Jan-19

 Hi,

I took my time and simply enjoyed the process of making a card with (new to me) Altenew Sophisticated Wreath Stamp & Die.

I stamped and die everything, arranged into a Christmassy wreath, added sentiment strip, and splattered with gold ink.  Once dried, I adhered it to a card base which has gold splattered pattern paper panel affixed. Lastly I applied some Sprinkled Sugar Stickles to the "berries" and flowers.

Do you see some dimension on the flowers?  I took the time to curl each so they are not flat.  I like how this turn out, and I'd definitely make more.  😀

Hero Arts Mid-tone Shadow Ink (Red Royal)

Christmas Tags 2019-Jul-24

Hello and welcome back!

Instead of sharing Christmas cards in this post I am sharing some tags.  These would be handy to use during the holiday season.  I am pretty happy how they turned out, so I would make more!  :D

I die cut the tags using Cas-ual Friday Scallop Tag Fri-Dies.  And made four different styles.

For this tag, I simply stamped (Happy Little Stamps Merry Kissmas) and colored.  To create some visual depth, I used both light and dark ink for the outline and different shades of reds.  The greeting is stamped in black and I added an die cut bow (Hero Arts Ornament Infinity Die) that is made up by two die cuts glued together in an offset fashion.  I also coated the berries in Sprinkled Sugar Stickles which does not show up in the photo.

For this one, I stamped the wreath (Winner & Walter Bloom: Hollie's Festive Floral) in distress ink, but clear heat embossed the red berries.  The pine cones (Hero Arts Vintage Christmas Post Stamp & Frame Cut) are stamped and colored in pencils, and embellished with Platinum Stickles.  The greeting is stamped in Walnut Stain and clear embossed.

For the third tag, I stamped the background using Cas-ual Friday Stamp Starlequin.  And then layered the poinsettia stamped using Hero Arts Color Layering Poinsettia.

My last tag is similar to the third, instead of a stamped background, I dry embossed it using Kaiser Craft Wood Grain Embossing Folder.  And used a gold leafing pen to edge the poinsettia and leaves.

Christmas cards 2019-Apr-11

Hello,

Slowly but surely I am adding to my Christmas card stash.  The special thing about today's card is that I did some stamping with alcohol ink.  Yes, I inked up my rubber stamp and stamped the background of my card.

I started by placing some drops of alcohol ink onto the applicator felt and inked my rubber stamp then stamped on a Yupo paper panel.  After I stamped on the Yupo panel I tapped the Alcohol Lift-ink pad on my tap and stamped off in my art journal.

This panel is 8.5 by 5.5 inches.  I cut it into two panels.  On one of them I splattered some Cranberry  alcohol ink and glimmer gold ink.

Next step I stamped the sentiment, then added a couple die cut pine branches, and a couple of watercolored Cardinal birds.  And I stamped a matching envelope too.  :)

I am so happy you stop by, have a great rest of the day!

Color Layering Poinsettia Trio on a2z

Happy Sunday!

I must say I am doing pretty well in building up my Christmas Cards Stash this year.  Today I share three cards on a2z Scrapbooking Supplies.

I have other poinsettia stamps already, but when I saw the Hero Arts Color Layering Poinsettia Stamps and Frame cut, I just could not resist!  LOL   Right after I got them I tried different color combinations, the reds ones were easy.  But it took me many tries to get the white/yellow ones to my liking.  So let's see this one first.

Colors for the poinsettia are (base, middle, top): Ranger Distress Squeezed Lemonade, Lemon Yellow (from Jayne's Fall Color), Lime Green (from Amy's Shades of Green).

And I used a paint brush to add some Perfect Pearl solution for the shimmery highlights on the petals, and used Liquid Pearl for the center.

The sentiment is stamped in Ranger Distress Crushed Olive and clear heat embossed.  The decorative strip is part of a panel I did by painting wide strips of Glimmer Metallic Gold ink across a white panel with a flat toothed watercolor brush.  I cut up my panel and used on all three cards.

Colors for this poinsettia are (base, middle, top): Ranger Distress Barn Door, Hero Arts Mid-tone Shadow Red Royal, Ranger Distress Vintage Photo.  The flower center is painted with Glimmer Metallic Gold Ink.  The sentiment is stamped in Ranger Distress Peeled Paint and clear heat embossed.

On this last one, the sentiment is gold heat embossed but it was kind of lost, so I used a marker and added shadow to make it stand out.  Instead of sequins I added dots of Glimmer Metallic Gold Ink.

Here's a couple close up you could see the glimmer and shine.

Group shot Here.

Christmas cards 2018-Aug-17

Hello there,

I am sharing a couple of Christmas cards I am adding to my stash.

I used the same sketch and the same stamp set for both cards with a slight variation.  Which one is more pleasing to you?  Both I stamped Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic marks.  And embellished with sequins.  I used a clear gel pen to give a little bit of shine on the "berries".

Card on the left is "one layer", the sentiment is stamped and masked before the mistletoe branches.  But it was kind of lost, I outline it and use a grey coloring pencil to a shadow.

This one on the right is pretty self explanatory.

Challenges:

Supplies:

Little Things from Lucy's Cards Sequins - Apple Ice
Copic Markers (YG00, YG25, R39)
