Embroidered Wreath

Hello,

So this past Monday (Oct 14) was our Canadian Thanksgiving and my favorite local craft store had a Thanksgiving Sale, I scored some fun crafting goods!!

One of them is the Altenew Embroidered  Blooms stamp set.  It is so different from other floral stamps, and I see so many possibilities with it.  But first I created a Christmas card!

Very simple and basic ink and stamp for the wreath.  I splattered some Glimmer Metallic Gold ink.  And the banner is stamped, clear embossed and hand cut.

Off-center Interlocking Gatefold card

Hi everybody,

I've another fun project to share.  I saw Jennifer McGuire's Interlocking Gatefold Card video a few days ago and I am so inspired to give it a try.  But I got ambitious and went off-center.  When the card opens and close it is not as smooth as Jennifer's cards, but it works.  Phew!!

I took the sketch of CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #326 and turned it side way for my project and I kept it very CAS.

Along with the card I've decided to create a few more book plates/book marks since I got the stamp out already.

And to add some interest in the inside of the card I add a partial die cut at the lower left corner, and added a fun sentiment.

Ombre butterfly

Hello,

The power was out earlier, thank goodness it's during the day, and as long as there is daylight I can craft!!  Luckily the power came back soon, otherwise I couldn't use my heat gun!!  LOL

For this CAS card, I first stamp the butterfly from the Hero Arts Greetings set in an ombre fashion on white card stock.  Next I used coloring pencils to add in a tiny bit of details, and then hand cut it.  The following step is to clear heat emboss the entire butterfly.

On a separate piece of 4.25 by 5.5 inch white card panel I stamped the leaves from Altenew Warm Wishes set in Spun Sugar, and then the sentiment in black.  Then with my stylus and trimmer I scored the pancel from backside 1/4 inch from the edge all around to create the embossed frame.

Lastly I glue the panel to a white card base, and adhered the butterfly.

Here's a closer look, you could see the shine from the clear embossing.

Christmas Cards 2018-nov-28

Hi craft friends,

I am proud to say that I've written up most of my Christmas cards and some of them (oversea) are already in the mail.  But I am not giving up on building up my stash.  So here's today's entry.

I used the sketch from the current CAS(E) This Sketch and follow pretty closely, but I rotate the sketch counter clockwise to the left.  I used only a few basic supplies and I love how it turned out.

Christmas cards 2018-Aug-17

Hello there,

I am sharing a couple of Christmas cards I am adding to my stash.

I used the same sketch and the same stamp set for both cards with a slight variation.  Which one is more pleasing to you?  Both I stamped Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic marks.  And embellished with sequins.  I used a clear gel pen to give a little bit of shine on the "berries".

Card on the left is "one layer", the sentiment is stamped and masked before the mistletoe branches.  But it was kind of lost, I outline it and use a grey coloring pencil to a shadow.

This one on the right is pretty self explanatory.

Hi,

I have missed a few days on the coloring challenge, my mojo took a nap!  LOL  But I've received the goodies I purchased using my Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers' Bloghop Super Sponsor prize from CAS-ual Friday, naturally I broke it out of the package and played!!

I stamped the images from Peaceful Garden in Hero Arts Mid-Tone Shadow Ink Soft Granite, then colored with watercolor pencils then used a watering pen to blend the colors.  The sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Black.

I scrambled to CAS(E) this Sketch

Hi,

For those who is familiar with Hero Arts Flickr group scramble challenge, you know what I am talking about!!

Betty (at Created by bjk) is our hostess and the theme she gave us is Autumn using something metallic.

I took some metallic vellum (gold) and tried on different embossing powder.  From left bottom, counter clock wise:  Rose Quartz, Brass, Bronze, Silver.

They turned out nicely!  I hand cut the leaves and added them (except one) to a card panel of which sentiments were stamped in a diagonal fashion.  I used the sketch from the CAS(E) this Sketch #241.
