Rachel Vass Designs Bulbs Of Flowers

Watt's up everybody?!

Rachel Vass Designs' newest release is call Bulbs of Flowers.  It is a really fun one.  Don't you think?

I chose the middle image and created a mesh shaker card.

The flowers are colored in Copic markers, and I distressed the inside of the bulb and the background with Mustard Seed and Milled Lavender.

To create the shaker part, I cut along the outline of the bulb and left the top part intact.  I slipped a piece of mesh in between the card front and the bulb image, and secure it with tape.  Working with the card front side down, I lift the bulb up and placed some small Simon Says Stamps metallic sequins onto the mesh, then close the bulb part down and seal with tape.   Then I flipped the card back (card front facing up now) and applied glossy accent to close the opening where the mesh meet the top of the bulb.

Do you know that we have a Rachel Vass Designs Fan Page on Facebook?  There are plenty inspirations there and you could join in our monthly challenge and win free Rachel Vass Designs' digital stamps.  Click here to join.

Rachel Vass Designs Magnolia Background

Hi,

Hope you're all having a good Saturday!!

Today I share two projects created using the newest release from Rachel Vass Designs, Magnolia Background.

Here's my takes.  First one up is a regular watercolored one.

I drew a gold frame using a gold gel pen for the image so it has the same look as the gold heat embossed sentiment.

This next card I am CASEing my teammates, Vivien Hodge's loose watercolor style.

I first spritzed the entire panel with clean water and then loosely dropped the colors in.   Check out more inspiration projects by visiting Rachel Vass Designs' store.

I used the corner image for my card.  It is watercolor, and I simply splattered some blue ink for the background to keep it simple.  But I score an inside frame to add subtle interest.

Do hop over to Die Cut Divas and check out the beautiful inspirations my teammates created for you.  And join in the challenge.  Winner will receive theree (3) digi stamps from Rachel's store.

30 Day Coloring (Jul09)

The image used on my mini art journal page today is by Rachel Vass Designs named Happy Butterfly, just releases yesterday.

The background I used Jet Black from Altenew Watercolor 36 pan set, I am happy with the ombre effect, but it smears somewhat when I touch it.  Any idea how I could prevent this?

I left the flower white so the main focus is on the butterfly.
Twinking H2O Shimmer watercolors were used, Black Orchid, Fussy Peach, and Sunset Glow for the butterfly, Rain Forest of the flower stem and stamen.

The sentiment from Simon Says Stamps Beautiful Butterfly is white heat embossed.

Until tomorrow, enjoy a beautiful day!!

Rachel Vass Designs Summer Bloom

Hello there,

A beautiful new digi stamp set is released today at Rachel Vass Designs, Summer Bloom.  And I can't help it but to make a shaped card with it.

I resized the image to 4 1/4 by 4 inches, printed on white card stock.  Watercolored, and hand cut.  I added some fine shading using color pencils and used a small brush to paint some gel medium for add foiling some highlights.

Next I cut the same shape using white card stock and trimmed off the side, I glued this to the backside of the front flap and sandwiched the die cut leaves.

For the back flap for the card, I traced and hand cut the same shape using an eggplant colored card stock,  and glue a circle die cut for writing.

I had fun making this shaped card, and even though I added the leave it still fit in a standard A2 envelope.

In case you're wondering what are the sparkly stuff, let me explain.  I used a small brush and painted some Tacky When Dry Gel then foiled it.  :)

Rachel Vass Designs Romantic Ruffles

Hello hello,

Today's projects focus on the latest Rachel Vass Designs Digital Stamp Romantic Ruffles.  And I chose colors I don't normally use for floral images.   So it was a challenge for me!!

I printed the floral image on 100lb Elizabeth Craft Soft Finished paper, and I colored it with Twinkling H2O Watercolors.  Oh that shine!!  You could see it in the close up.

The texture of the paper amplify the shininess.  Don't you think?

I hand cut the flowers and adhere to a gold embossed panel, and then it goes onto a blue card base, and I added a gold embossed sentiment strip as well.

Although I didn't use them, the digital set offers three lovely sentiments.  You could see them here.

Come back soon to see what's to be released next on Rachel Vass Designs.

Rachel Vass Designs Dancing Delights

Welcome back!!

May is here and so is a new digital stamp set call Dancing Delights by Rachel Vass Designs.  It's really cute and it's perfect for many occasions.  Here's what I did.

I picked two images from the stamp set and printed them on 100lb Elizabeth Craft Soft Finish Cardstock.  I watercolored them, and hand cut.  On the card panel I printed the sentiment, masked a circular area around the sentiment, and stenciled, then I arranged the hand cut flowers to form an offset wreath.  To embellish I added some sequins.

Isn't this digital stamp set pretty!!  I only used two of the flowers, go check the rest here.

I am linking up to these challenges:

Supplies:

Altenew Watercolors 36 Pan Set
Echo Park Glamour Stripe Stencil

Rachel Vass Designs digi set Jars

Hi,
Hope you're all doing well!  I've got a couple cards to share today.  These are made using Rachel Vass Design Digital Stamp - Jars of Peace, released just today!!

The stamp set comes with two main images and 4 sentiments.  On the first card I used one of the images calls Eucalpytus and made it quite CAS.  I printed the images twice, once on 110 lb white card stock, and another on scrap paper.  I hand cut the image from the scrap paper, masked the image and did an ink blended background.  Then the main image is colored with watercolor pencils.

For details I made score lines around the card panel, although you have to squint to see them.  :)

For my second card, I use both images from the stamp set, and add a freebie from Rachel and stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts.  I colored this one with alcohol markers.

I hope you enjoy these.  Click here to see more of Rachel's beautiful images.  And be on the look out for new one to be released next weekend!!
