Classic Valentine

Hello everyone,

Just a few more days and it's Valentine's Day.  It's a day to celebrate love, not only love of our spouse, our children, our siblings, and of course our parents.

I am sharing a couple classic Valentine's Day card, one here and another over at Die Cut Divas'.  The February Challenge is Use Red or Pink in your projects.

I'd like to dedicate the card below to my parents.  I lost my father 8 years ago and my mom just last year.  I miss them dearly!

The lovely Cut and Emboss Folder was sent to me by my Secret Santa (Heather) from the Hero Arts Flickr group.  The dry embossing is really pretty, and the heart shape cut out is perfect to frame my focal sentiment which is from the Hero Arts You Are My Happy clear stamp set.  I stamp in white and white heat embossed it.

Over the soft pink card from, I layer the embossed vellum, then use a white gel pen to add dots inside of the heart shape cut out.  Then I adhered a few heart shape sequins for good measure!!  :)

Stop by Die Cut Divas' to check out my other card.  Join in challenge: Use Pink or Red.

Supplies:

Hero Arts Clear Stamp - You Are My Happy
Xcut Cut and Emboss Folder
Hero Arts Pigment Ink (Unicorn)
white embossing powder
Little Things from Lucy's Cards Sequins Mix

Thanks for visiting, have a very lovely day!

Candy Canes

Welcome back to my blog.

I am sharing a card created for the Die Cut Diva's challenge blog, our October theme is Embossing.

The digital image I used is called Candy Cane Corner by The Stamping Boutique.  I copied and pasted the image twice on a file, used my image editor to manipulate it so that one of them is facing the other direction.  I first colored them with coloring pencils, then stamp and heat emboss the surrounding area.  I trimmed it slightly smaller to fit my card base.  Then I stamped, heat embossed, and die cut the sentiment and adhered to card.

Supplies:

Digital image: Candy Cane Corner
Coloring pencils
Penny Black clear stamp - Sentimental
Simon Says Stamp - Congratulations
Vera Mark watermark ink
Gold embossing powder
My Favorite Things  Die-namics - Stitched Rec STAX

Flower Cart

Good morning,

I am sharing a card I made for the Die Cut Diva's blog today, the stamp image is call Flower Cart by The Stamping Boutique which is the sponsor for October's Challenge - Time to Emboss.

I first colored my image with Copic markers.  The I masked the rest of the image except the umbrella and the wheels, I pressed my clear embossing ink on the exposed area, lift off mask and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  This creates the shine.  I used a clear glaze pen to add some shine to the heart on top of the umbrella and rounds at the bottom of the umbrella; as well as the heart on the cart.  Then I die cut the main image and adhere to a dry embossed card front.  Here's a look from different angle and you will see the shine.

I hope you would join in and play along.  Hop over to the Die Cut Diva's Challenge Blog and see what my team mates created.

Supplies:

Embossing folder by Cuttlebug
Copic Markers (R14,RV34,RV63,RV66,Y15,YR16,YG25,B12,B14,B16)
Clear embossing ink
Clear embossing powder
Clear glaze pen

Kaisercraft Textures - Butterflies Thank You

Hi everyone,

I got a Thank You card to share today on the Die Cut Diva's Challenge Blog.

I used a technique that's call Embossing Folder Stamping.  I first learnt about it in this challenge post.

So I inked up my embossing folder with several distress inks, spritz with water, but instead of embossing my card, I just press the card stock onto the embossing folder like stamping with it.

Isn't that background fun?!  Next I stamped the butterflies and the sentiment in black and heat embossed with clear powder.  I added stickles to the butterflies and embellished with a few sequins.  This card is one layer so no extra bulk, easy for mailing.

Supplies:

Kaisercraft Embossing Folder: Triangles
Kaisercraft Clear Stamp: Textures - Butterflies
Hero Arts Clear Stamp: Say it All
Ranger Distress Ink: Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Bundled Sage
Memento Dye Ink: Tuxedo Black
clear embossing powder
Little Things from Lucy's Cards sequins: Fruit Sorbet
Ranger Stickles: Diamond, Orange Slice

Thanks for stopping by, I wish you a lovely day!
