Thursday, October 5, 2023

Hi, so nice to see you again.

It's my turn to share another inspiration project on Die Cut Divas Challenge Blog today.

A few days ago, I created a holiday card using the Forest Leaf and Berries Contour Layers die set from Birch Press Design.

Today I made another using the same die for an everyday card.  I die cut and layered the parts, and glued them on a Pinpoint Contour die.  Added sentiment strip, embellished with sequins and applied Clear Wink of Stella on the berries' top for final touch.

October's theme is: Use Layer Die Set or Layer a die on another die.  May be you don't have a layer die set, but below is an example layering a die on another.

The 'hugs' was die cut three times (twice on plain white card stock, once on inked panel), I layered and glue all three together.  Then I layered this thick die onto the pre-arranged leaves and berries die cuts.  See?!  So simple.
Btw, I only use the base layer of both berries and leaves.  To give dimension to the berries, I placed the base layer die cut (of cream card stock) onto a sticky mat.  Then I place the negative piece over it, and use an ink blending tool to apply a darker shade of ink.

Then I use a shaping tool to add some roundness to the berries.  The leaves were edged with distress ink and slightly shaped.

I hope I've inspired you to come and join our challenge.  Click here to go to Die Cut Divas, then click the Monthly Challenge button on the right side bar to get all the details.

To play, use any products you desired and die cuts following the monthly challenge theme.  Project must be new and has not been published before, and you must add a link back to our challenge post.

Our October challenge is sponsor by: Birch Press Design.

Memento Dye Ink (Tuxedo Black)

Birch Press Layered Dies on Die Cut Divas

 Hello there,

Happy October 1st!  Have start your holiday cards yet?  If not, I hope my project today would give you some inspiration.

When in doubt, layer those dies!  Or even easier, use layered die set like I did on my card.

With a pretty layered die set, it's hard to go wrong.  All I did was die cut with different color card stock, layer the dies, arrange and attach to a dry embossed background.  Easy peasy!

The challenge theme this month on Die Cut Divas Challenge Blog is: Use Layer Die Set or Layer a die on another die.  Our sponsor is: Birch Press Design.  Challenge winner will receive a $20 gift card to their store.

Go over here to check out more inspiration from the DT!

Supplies:

Birch Press Design String Art Nativity Star (retired)
Hero Arts Winter Foilage Stamp & Cut XL
Memento Dye Ink (Tuxedo Black)
White Gel Pen

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!

Tone On Tone Take 2

 Hello there,

Welcome back to my blog.  I am sharing another Tone On Tone card today on Die Cut Divas.  My card features the Birch Press Design's Big Birthday Sugar Script Die Cut, and I used it to make a shaker card.

For my front panel, I stencilled with some happy yellow tone colors with a Bali Stencil set (given to me by my craft friend).  Then I die cut the 'birthday' outline, stamped the 'wishes' and glue a piece acetate on the back.

I die cut the detail 'birthday' with an dark/peachy color card stock, and adhere it to a piece of yellow card stock, then this card stock is glue to my card base.

Next I put foam adhesive all around the birthday word and the card base, added some sequins, then adhere the front panel.

The Big Birthday Sugar Script cutting die from Birch Press Design is really fun to play with, there are so many way to you layer it up.  I hope you would join in this month's challenge.  Birch Press Design is our sponsor.  Winner will win a $20 gift card to their store.

Supplies:

Memory Box Bali Stencil set
Ranger Distress Inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Walnut Stain)
Ranger Letter It - It's the Little Thing Clear Stamp
Little Things from Lucy's Cards Sequins (Fruit Sorbet)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a lovely day!

Tone on Tone Challenge on Die Cut Divas

Happy Canada Day to my Canadian blog friends!!

It's July 1st and a new challenge awaits you on Die Cut Divas.  This month's theme is Tone on Tone.  Not sure what that means?  Here's what I found from the internet.

"Tone on tone coloring or layering, is a decorative technique that takes a single or a few colors and uses different saturation of that color(s) throughout the space. The result is a room that can be dramatically transformed just by lightening or darkening of that color."

There you have it.  Our sponsor for July is Birch Press Design.  Challenge winner will receive $20 gift code to their store.

And here's my take of the challenge.

I ink blended the background with Worn Lipstick, and Crackling Campfire in an ombre fashion, then I stenciled in Barn Door.  I die cut Birch Press' Big Birthday Sugar Script using both solid red card stock and pattern paper, then adhere the pattern detail die to the solid background die.  The 'happy' is stamped in Barn Door.

Now it's your turn to create.  Looking forward to seeing your projects in the challenge gallery.  Go over to Die Cut Divas to enter.

Supplies:

Ranger Distress Ink (Worn Lipstick, Cracking Campfire, Barn Door)
Ranger Letter It - It's The Little Thing Clear Stamp
American Crafts Vicky Boutin Color Study Collection Fresh Stencil
