Magic Iris tips

Hello, welcome back!

How have you been in the past few days?  Got some time to craft?  We are in a total lock down here, so no chance to gather with family, but more chance to craft.

I've created two cards using the Lawn Fawn Magic Iris Die and the Snow Globe add-on and I've learnt a couple things along the way.

First thing, make detail planning of everything.  For example, what paper to be used where, and what stamp to be stamped and stamp them before assembling.

I was so anxious to make my shaker element to go behind the Magic Iris, I've neglected to stamp a sentiment on the inside.  So now the Magic Iris opens, and you see the shaker but it is a little empty without a sentiment?!

--- *** ---

Second thing, if the background is embossed, make sure to use double the foam adhesive to mount the Magic Iris so the mechanism does not get caught by the uneven surface.

It is so fun to open the Magic Iris to reveal the Peas on Earth, but after the second time, the mechanism got stuck because I didn't double up the foam adhesive!

In my first card, I didn't have that problem even though it is the same embossed background.  Reason is that there is a shaker layer in between the Magic Iris and the card base.

So there you have it!

Hi, Cindi and Happy New Year! I love this post....I have also learned with the fun LF dies that one must pre-plan! I haven't used my snow globe add-on yet, but will keep these tips in mind. Your peas card is so very cool....you did a great job. Thanks for sharing and stay well.
