Guest Designer at CAS Christmas Challenge

Hi everybody,

I am so very happy and excited to be Guest Designing for CAS Christmas Challenge today.  My cardinal card was the Top Pick for October's challenge, and today I have the honor to guest design for the December's Challenge.

Here's my take:

You know the funny thing is I don't own a large star stamp, and I search high and low for something appropriate to use for my project.  But I realized that I do not have to stamp a star.  :)

So here's what I did.  I first stamp in clear embossing ink the Leaf And Floral Background (from Hero Arts) and heat embossed with Suger Cube glitter embossing powder (from Martha Stewart).  Then I use a star shape template, trace and cut the star out.  Punch hole on top, thread some glittery ribbon and tie, and added a clear sticker (from my stash) to the center.  To add  a little interest in the background without clutter, I stamped and embossed a trail of small stars using same EP on the card base.  I rounded the corners and adhere my star using some foam adhesive.

The most difficult part of the whole process is to photograph it.  LOL

I hope you would join in the fun at CAS Chrsitmas Challenge.  See you there.

Supplies:

Hero Arts Leaf And Floral Cling Stamp
Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Thanks
Versamark Watermark Ink Pad
Martha Stewart Sugar Cube Glitter Embossing Powder
Clear Sticker (source unknown)

Thanks for visiting.  I wish you a lovely day!

Yes, photographing a sparkly card can be a real challenge, but you did a great job with it!
Congrats on your GD spot for the December challenge! I love the subtle pattern you chose for your star and your sentiment is just perfect! Loving your sparkly ribbon and how you added those tiny stars to the background, too...such a lovely CAS card, Cindy!

LOVE your beautiful star Cindy!! The subtle sparkle from the tone-on-tone of the heat embossing flourish design is beautiful. I love that you've carried some of the embossing on to the card front as well. Very creative and clever design elements. The tinsel at the top of the star is the perfect finishing touch to add a bit of magic! Photographing white-on-white with shimmer is one of the most difficult. You did a great job! Thanks so much for being our Guest Designer this month at CAS Christmas!

Simply beautiful and glittery stamped and heat embossed images and then cut into a star shape. Sweet small stamped stars, added glittery embellishment and stamped sentiment to finish your beautiful white on white CAS Star Christmas card. TFS Cindy and Congratulations for being chosen this months Guest Designer. Merry Christmas. Hugs..Nancy

Congratulations on your Guest Designer spot for this challenge, Cindy! Your sparkly star with the tinsel looks so festive and pretty. You figured out your own creative way to make this wonderful card without a large star stamp or die. That's fantastic!

Cindy, congratulations on your win, and this guest designer spot! Your darling star reminded me of one I'd made a long time ago... so thanks for inspiring me to recreate it!
Something tells me you'll be getting a star die soon? or perhaps not! Your solution was perfect! xx

Gorgeous card - I don't have a large star stamp/die either and also have a template - which you have just reminded me I have! Hasn't seen daylight this year at all - but now it might!!
