Vintage Christmas Post Tag Ornament

Hello,

Welcome back to my blog.  It is December already!!  Wow!  I bet you're almost done with your Christmas cards, do you make homemade decor and things alike?

For the month of December, a2z Scrapbooking Supplies Blog's challenge theme is: Anything But a Card.

I like making home make ornament, and here's one I made using the Hero Arts Vintage Christmas Post Clear Stamp set and the Hero Arts Vintage Post Frame Cut.

I was intrigued after seeing Ilina Crouse's video on Mirror Stamping using the MISTI.   And I thought this technique would be perfect for my tag/ornament, because I want the backside to have the mirror image.

I started stamping the cardinal.  And it turned out well.

So I continue stamping the rest of the images I wanted, and die cut.  Note:  when die cutting the mirror image I place the stamped image on the window (image side facing out) so I could align the cutting die properly.   If you have a light box, this makes it even easier.  :)

So I got all my main components ready.

Next I clear embossed the birds to give them some shine.  Then glued everything together and embellished with some gems.  I know the cardinal I colored is male, but I thought the red bling flower looks good on it anyway!!  LOL  Lastly I tie red and white twine on top.

I really like this stamp set and matching frame cut.  Do you like?  Get yours at a2z Scrapbooking Supplies.  Use my code Cindy15 to get 15% off any purchase $25 or more (excluding shipping).  There is special deal going on right now, you could get free shipping.  Check the announcement section for details.
