Hero Arts Makeover Challenge

Hi,

Have you heard?  Hero Arts' web site has a brand new look!!  And to celebrate they are hosting a Makeover Challenge, give a past project a makeover.

I am playing along and I've picked this one layer card to make over.

Before
After
Here are the switch up facts:

  • Large Lotus Pattern stencil vs Long Leaves stencil
  • Mask off tag with faux stitches vs Rectangle stitch die cut
  • Digital butterfly coloured with pencils vs Color Layering Butteflies stamped ink
  • Birthday banner with inked shadow vs Thanks sentiment with hand-drawn shadow
To get the light shade on the butterfly, I first stamped the solid shape with Barn Door, then I spray the next layering stamp with a Perfect Pearl solution and stamped on top of solid colour.  Since distress ink reacts with water, it creates that shimmery white pattern; I stamped the black layer last.

both cards are wonderful but your makeover is outstanding - so much cleaner and great color combo - isn't it interesting how our style evolves!

Both cards are so pretty, Cindy! I have to say that I love the Long Leaves for the background...it's so elegant, and I love how you added the shadow to your sentiment! A really lovely 'Makeover'!!!
