Gold embossing on Vellum

Hello,

Earlier today I played a 90 min scramble challenge hosted by Karen. one of my Hero Arts Flickr group buddies.  See more details here.  Karen gave us a very special theme - use vellum, and gold or silver!

I grab one of my all time favorite stamps - Hero Art Large Flower Background and went to work.

I first heat emboss it with gold embossing powder on vellum.

Then I stamp the same image with Wet Cement on my white card base and add ink lightly with distress inks (Barn Door and Crushed Olive) and Copics marker (YG25).

Then trim and layer it together, tie with pink twine and embellished with a gem butterfly.  Voila!

It came together very nicly.  I like how the subtle colours coming thru from underneath the vellum.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Now I see your secret for the soft coloring. Very nice and a great idea to stamp the image again underneath. That gives me an idea for an image I wanted to do while making the Scramble cards.

I am so happy you stopped by today, Cindy... it encouraged me to, once again, pay a visit to your wonderful blog! I ADORE this gorgeous card! The technique of coloring the backside of vellum is one of my favorites - coloring the card-base is such a great idea, too! So, SO pretty!

This is such a gorgeous card, Cindy! Now that I know how you created it, I'm doubly impressed! I love the soft pink peeking through the vellum, and your gold embossing is stunning! I also love the dainty butterfly you added to this card...it's so lovely!
